Sophie Rennert
Mezzo-soprano
The Austrian mezzo-soprano Sophie Rennert studied in Vienna. In 2013 she was a member of the Salzburg Festival’s “Young Singers Project”, and from 2014 to 2016 a member of the ensemble at Konzert Theater Bern.
In a repertoire ranging from the Baroque through Mozart and operetta to the modern era, she has enjoyed great success with leading early music ensembles, among others, as well as in “Parsifal” in Bayreuth and as Angelina in “La Cenerentola” in Mannheim. Renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, with conductors including David Afkham, Ivor Bolton, Semyon Bychkov, Laurence Cummings, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and Philippe Jordan, invite her to perform in concert.
As a song recitalist Sophie Rennert has appeared at the Schubertiade, the Vienna Musikverein, the Wiener Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall in London and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, among others.
