The German composer Johann Gottlieb Janitsch was
of central imortance for the emergence of the bourgeois
concert system in Germany: From 1738, Janitsch
received pricely permission to organise his own concert
series at Rheinsberg Palace, Grown Prince Frederick
of Prussia's residence. The special feature of these
“Freitagsakademien” (Friday Academies) was
that members of the bourgeoisie were also admitted
to the concerts.
